Short answer
Gökkaya Hafriyat supplies sand, gravel and soil in Famagusta (Gazimağusa) and İskele, North Cyprus. The right material depends on how it will be used. Foundations, fill, concrete and garden work can each require different properties.
Which material is used for what?
| Material | Common use |
|---|---|
| Sand | Mortar, plaster, concrete and pipe bedding |
| Gravel | Concrete, drainage and sub-base layers |
| Fill soil | Raising levels and backfilling |
| Garden soil | Landscaping and planting beds |
For structural work, material suitability should be checked against the project requirements.
How much material do you need?
The basic formula is length × width × thickness = cubic metres. For example, 20 cm over an area of 10 m × 5 m needs 10 × 5 × 0.20 = 10 m³ of material.
That is the net compacted volume. Loose material loses volume when compacted, so add an allowance for fill that will be compacted.
What should you prepare before ordering?
- The material type and the job it is for
- The approximate quantity in cubic metres
- The delivery address and unloading point
- Road width for the truck and any height restrictions
